The Traverse City Police Department in conjunction with the Traverse City Central High School has implemented a school liaison program that includes an officer being assigned to the school.  The program began in 1981, when Sergeant McEvoy was the first school liaison officer.  The officer that is currently assigned is Patrolman Evan Warsecke.  His office is located within the High School in "F" building.  His officer number is (231) 933-3599.

Officer Warsecke conducts presentations in the school and instructs in the classroom on special topics.  He is constantly interacting with the faculty and the students and maintaining a safe atmosphere for all to make the High School a more conducive place to learn.

Officer Warsecke attends all of the sporting events that are related to the school when they are at home.  Officer Warsecke is also responsible for investigating crimes that occur at the High School and at Northwestern Michigan College, which is close by.
