GRAND TRAVERSE VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK

Work is geting started on the Grand Traverse Veteran's Memorial Park and is going well. Some momuments have been moved to the new site on the north side of Eleventh Street, just before Elmwood Avenue (between the State building parking lot and Kids Creek).
Anyone wanting to donate to the Veterans Park may do so by going to any Traverse Ciyt State Bank branch to put a donation in the Grand Traverse Area Veterans Coalition/Veterans Memorial park fund.

Grand Traverse Area Veterans Coalition The Grand Traverse Area Veterans Coalition was officially created on October 24, 2005 when the inaugural by-laws were established and endorsed by the original 22 Veterans Service Organizations and their respective auxiliaries in Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties, as officiated and validated by the Honorable Thomas J. Phillips, Michigan 86th District Court.
The purpose of the coalition is as follows. We associate ourselves together in order that, through the concerted action of member organizations and associate members as a group, the common interests of all veterans and their families may be advanced. It is our purpose to cooperate with, coordinate and strengthen each other's individual organizations and in no way to supplant or replace any such units. To dedicate our solidarity to service to our community as a whole; honor to our organization's integrity in our endeavor's for patriotism and pride; loyalty to our leaders and country' and enthusiasm in our joint endeavors' in general to do whatever we can to further the interests of veterans and their families. We pledge our allegiance to the United States of America, and reaffirm our aim to be nonpartisan in politics and unbiased as to race, gender, creed, color or religion.

American Legion Post 35 and their Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2780 and their Ladies and Mens Auxiliaries, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 38 and their Ladies Auxiliary, Korean War Veterans of Northern Michigan, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7493, Vietnam Veterans Association, Military Order of the Purple Heart, American Military League and their Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post 219 and their Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7731, American Legion Post 120 and their Ladies Auxiliary, Marine Corp League, Robert Finch Camp No 14 SUVCW, Forgotten Eagles Chapter 6, Battle of the Bulge, Elks Lodge #323, Chairman of Grand Traverse and Leelanua County Veterans Administrative Committee.
